Japan’s Biggest Selling Games of 2017

In News by Bzzap!

Famitsu has released sales data of Japanese Hardware and Software for the 2017/18 financial year. It’s good to see the Japanese game industry doing well after a disappointing number of years. Interestingly, 2017 is the first time the Japanese gaming industry has experienced growth since 2006.

Much of the growth has been attributed to strong sales of Sony’s PlayStation 4 console which continues to remain popular, as well as incredible first year sales for Nintendo’s Switch and its games. We’ll keep our fingers crossed that this trend continues well into 2018 and beyond, and with some big releases on both the Switch and PS4 due to arrive this year there’s no reason to thinks that it won’t.
